tools For those of you that have been paying attention you probably noticed a new tool on your shelf called Animation Clip Library (ACLP). Turns out, we never announced it or told our members about it. We have been working on some of our video manual links and missing pieces and found this one just waiting to be viewed.

Other than awesome, the Animation Clip Lib is awesome. It fills an important roll in our tools library for storing those animations that you would like to reuse. Whether it’s pre approved runs and walks for your production or even clips you’d like to use between productions. We have also made sure the video manual is now online and ready for viewing.

We are pleased to announce “Intro Mel for Animators” as our newest Get Skills classroom offering. There are many situations as an animator where a little bit of Mel can be a very powerful asset. The course is geared specifically toward animators and will teach you to read and write Mel so that, once complete, you can create simple tools, automate tasks, and customize your work flow. This is a 7 week course where you will have lectures each week and one-on-one private instruction each week. Use the following link or click the banner above for more info including pricing and application form.

tools[/caption] Pose Master had an issue if you tried to create a pose on a referenced character and then use the Key button (all slider and other functions were fine). This has been fixed. Shouldn’t affect anything else, but keep an eye out just in case.

For those of you that haven’t logged in recently, our latest character went live on Saturday. He has all the latest plus a few new controls which, after some feedback from the community, we will be integrating into all the active characters. Check out the squash controls for the head, lower head, and eyes. We should also have his facial library ready to rock shortly. Happy Animating!

newtoolsbar
Per community request we’ve given your toolbar a bit of an update. Previously a lot of tools were hidden within sub-menus. Many members did not even know certain tools were available and it was slow to activate commonly used tools. We’ve broken these out into individual buttons. We’ve also added the ability to collapse certain sections of the tool bar (Click the options button at the end of your toolbar to specify which parts are collapsed). There are still sub-menus, but they apply to that specific tool. For example, the Mirroring tool has a sub-menu so you can launch the setup interface. All of the icon images in the tool video manuals section are being updated to reflect the new images. If you’re wondering where something went or what something is, don’t hesitate to ask.

For all those using Pose Master we have published prebuilt facial libraries for:

A few more characters libraries to build, a few more tools to update, and then Animation Contest!
